Existing services are often neither developmentally nor culturally responsive. In response, a global reform movement is building new youth-friendly models of care for the critical transition period between ages 12 and 25. At the same time, prevalence rates are rising sharply. In Australia, for example, mental disorders among 16\u201324-year-olds increased by 50% between 2007 and 2021. Similar trends are evident across high-income countries.
