Kick-off meeting of the Einstein Center for Youth Mental Health
The Einstein Center for Youth Mental Health (ECYM) celebrated its official launch on June 23, 2026 — marking an important milestone in advancing research and care in the field of youth mental health.
At the Berlin’s Hörsaalruine, the event brought together representatives from academia and clinical practice, early-career researchers, young people, and stakeholders from the political sectors. Members of the ECYM Scientific Advisory Board – Merete Nordentoft, Nikolaos Koutsouleris, Marc van der Gaag, and Michael Kaess – also attended the event and enriched the discussions with their expertise.
The event provided a platform for exchange on how collaboration, innovation, and evidence-based approaches can help sustainably improve youth mental health. The focus was placed on strengthening prevention, advancing early detection, and improving care structures for young people.
The launch event underscored ECYM’s shared commitment to developing sustainable solutions through interdisciplinary and cross-sector collaboration, with the aim of improving mental health outcomes for young people in the long term.
