Andreas Bechdolf is a psychiatrist, psychotherapist, and health economist. He serves as Medical Director of the Departments of Psychiatry, Psychotherapy, and Psychosomatics at Vivantes Klinikum Am Urban and Vivantes Klinikum im Friedrichshain. He is also Professor of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin.
His medical focus lies particularly in improving psychiatric and psychotherapeutic care (integrated and needs-based). This includes, among other areas, early detection and early intervention in severe mental illnesses, inpatient-equivalent treatment (home treatment), the reduction of violence and conflict on acute wards (Safewards), and support for vocational and educational needs during clinical treatment (Individual Placement and Support).
