Paul Wirsching is a psychiatry resident at Charité Campus Mitte and a postdoctoral researcher in the ECYM subproject S2. In this project, advanced neuroimaging methods are combined to investigate brain structure and function alongside experimental approaches to study emotional and cognitive processes. His clinical and research interests focus on how severe mental disorders ─ particularly psychosis ─ can be detected early and treated effectively. He integrates neurobiological research with his clinical work at the Center for Early Detection and Intervention in Psychosis (FeTZ) and the outpatient psychiatric clinic (PIA), where individuals at increased risk for mental disorders are supported.
